What screams Im a chemist

Q&A by @geminthepines

WHAT HAIR PRODUCTS SHOULD EVERYONE OWN?

The one product everyone should have is the the Ciment Thermique by Kerastase! It is lightweight and can be used on anybody, reduces breakage and smells amazing.

IS IT TRUE THAT WHEN YOU TRIM YOU HAIR, IT HELPS IT GROW FASTER?

When you don’t trim your hair as often,  the dead ends go up the shaft so then you end up having to cut more off.

HOW DO YOU FIXED DAMAGED HAIR?

Get a trim, change your shampoo, conditioner to what your stylist recommends. ALWAYS listen to your stylist. They didn’t go to school for nothing.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO PROTECT YOUR HAIR DURING THE SUMMER?

To protect you hair from sun exposure, Bumble & Bumble has a line specifically for this. This line is called HIO ( hairdresser’s invisible oil ) Not only does it help with Sun exposure, It ALSO helps with frizz control, 450 degree heat protection, detangles, has color protection and helps to nourish. You can get this line at your local ulta, or on their website! 🙂

ONE HAIR PRODUCT YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT?

Kerastase’s Elixir Ultime Oil. You can put it on whenever, dry or wet. It makes it so soft, shiny, and it smells really good! Its in a gorgeous glass bottle which screams luxury. It might seem super expensive but honestly, this oil lasts me a full year and I’m a product lover. I also use this oil before i go to the beach so my hair is protected and is getting the right nourishment that it needs.

DO YOU PREFER COLORING OR STYLING?

This is really difficult for me to answer because I do color clients hair based on their cut, and i cut their hair based on their color.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR SOMEONE STARTING COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL?

For anyone who is thinking of going to cosmetology school, I would say get through it as fast a you can and while your in there, you should be an assistant at a really high end salon or where you want to go so you get a really good understanding of how it plays. and don’t worry If you get in there and you’re like idk what  is going on because you don’t learn anything in hair school anyways. You just go take a test but when you get out of school, thats when you’ll start to figure it all out!

WHAT SCHOOL DID YOU GO TO?

I went to FCTC which was NOT my favorite. I don’t regret that though because AVEDA and Paul Mitchell was 10,000 more and i feel that i am where I’m at for a reason.

WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON MISTAKE YOU SEE WHEN IT COMES TO HAIR CARE?

There is two major mistakes that I see rather often that i really want to inform you on.

I think a lot of mistakes that people make is that don’t use heat protection, they don’t blow dry their hair properly, they are going to sleep with it tightly braided which does break the hair so you definitely want to stay away from that! Another thing i see the most is people using cheap shampoo. I think people get it bc it feels good on the outside but its not going to do anything for you on the inside. so that is your number one. as soon as you step in the shower, its game on.. so switch it now to a quality product (Kerastase, Oribe, Kevin Murphy, Bumble & Bumble, Pureology, Surface, Shu )
